Garching Login Server
New Login Server in Garching - deactivation charly

Two new login servers have been installed for access from outside the Munich Scientific Network (MWN), i.e. for non-VPN access from home or on travel. These servers are installed like the common Linux Ubuntu workstations:
- gar-sv-login01.garching.physik.uni-muenchen.de
- gar-sv-login02.garching.physik.uni-muenchen.de
Please consider using VPN as preferred access. Through VPN you can comfortably access your personal workstation directly.
The old login node
charly.garching.physik.uni-muenchen.de
will therefore be disabled on 1.2.2011.
